Cinedans 2006 - June 30 untill Tuesday July 4.
The fourth year already! We have recieved 235 films this year almost twice as much as in 2005. We have chosen to screen 40 films over 5 days.
The high attendance of the last three years has put Cinedans firmly on the map. It gives us great pleasure and lots of incentive to see some of the Cinedans 2005 films being picked up by television and theatre programmers. Our congratulations to the makers! It confirms the recognition of Cinedans as a platform for dance film and videos, where audiences can witness a wide selection of films showing the symbiosis between camera and dance in all its facets. Programme makers and critics will be invited to Cinedans even more than before, because an art form can only grow by reflecting on it. Outside criticism will contribute to the development of the dance film.
The collaboration with the Julidans festival proved a productive venture in the amount of publicity which Cinedans received. This year, we will explore the possibility of extending the collaboration to cover other areas, as well. We also have a fourth partner het Filmmuseum in the Vondelpark.
The jury will select only one winner who will win 1000 euros.
The audience prize will be chosen on the saturday and will win 500 euros.
