2026年2月27日、舞踏グループ「白虎社」主宰の大須賀 勇さん（80歳）が逝去されました。
Dance and Media Japan国際ダンス映画祭では、2021年のオンライン映画祭にて、「白虎社特集」を組み世界に配信しました。「芸術と芸能の串刺し」「明るい暗黒」という舞踏理念は、白虎社から生まれたものだと記憶しています。白虎社の存在は、日本・アジアの舞踏史において貴重であることに疑いはありません。
追悼の意を込めて、2021年国際ダンス映画祭にて配信した「白虎社特集」を再配信します。収録作品「光の王国」「アリス」は、大須賀さんがお持ちになっていたテープを、溝端俊夫さん（ダンスアーカイヴ構想）が管理を託されデジタライズしたものをお借りすることが出来ましたので、画質の良いデータで差し替えた編集となっています。
配信にご協力頂きました蛭田早苗さん、溝端俊夫さん（ダンスアーカイヴ構想）、相談に乗っていただいた水野立子さん、皆様、感謝致します。
大須賀 勇氏のご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。
白虎社
1980年に京都で結成。大須賀勇らを中心に関西を拠点として活動。1994年解散。 代表作「ひばりと寝ジャカ」。大須賀は1990年京都府文化賞功労賞受賞。

On February 27, 2026, Isamu Osuka (aged 80), founder of the butoh group Byakkosha, passed away.
In 2021, the International Dance Film Festival, organised by Dance and Media Japan, presented a special online program on Byakkosha and streamed it worldwide. The butoh philosophies, "skewering entertainment and art" and "bright darkness" emerged from Byakkosha. There is no doubt that Byakkosha holds an important place in the history of butoh in Japan and throughout Asia.In memory of Mr Osuka, we are re-presenting the Special Feature program on Byakkosha originally streamed during the International Dance Film Festival 2021.The works "Kingdom of Light" and "Alice" were digitised from tapes formerly in Mr Osuka's possession, later entrusted to Toshio Mizohata (Dance Archive Network). We were fortunate to borrow the digitised materials used in the version presented here.We express our sincere appreciation to Sanae Hiruta and Toshio Mizohata (Dance Archive Network) for their generous cooperation in making this streaming possible.
Byakkosha was founded in Kyoto in 1980 by Isamu Osuka and was based in the Kansai region. The group was active until its dissolution in 1994.One of its representative works is "Hibari to Nejaka."In 1990, Osuka received the Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Award for Distinguished Service.
